Founded by former THIN LIZZY member Darren Wharton and guitarist Vinny Burns (known today as guitarist of acts like TEN, ASIA or BOB CATLEY, the British act DARE gained a great reputation among fans of first class melodic rock. The debut 'Out of the Silence' was highly acclaimed both by press and audience and could have been the first chapter of a great success story - yet then the era of Grunge was dawning. The second output 'Blood from the Stone', released in the same year as an album by the name of 'Nevermind', failed to provide the final commercial breakthrough in spite of any of its remarkable qualities.
While the band's career was on hiatus for a while, DARE never really split or gave up - and finally, the year of 1998 marked the comeback of Wharton and his companions along with their unique sound enriched with Celtic melody lines to be heard on the impressive 'Calm before the Storm'.
In summer 2016, DARE have released the impressive new album 'Sacred Ground', and one year later they were part of our [custom:fstlng] band line up at Seebronn, where they delivered such a stunning show and displayed such excellent musicianship that they were among the first names when we began to put together our invitation list for our "family and friends" anniversary line up 2023. So here they are again!
